What is recorded here

Clearance cairns appear everywhere in Ireland because people moved unwanted stones from farmland and piled them into visible markers. In County Galway that act repeated itself across generations, changing broad land into small raised lines. The stones did not arrive as a gift or appear through mystery. They left the fields because human hands rejected them, then gathered into a shape others could see.
