Carnan-na-Calliagh is a prehistoric cairn in Torglass, County Antrim, now reduced to a memoir point rather than a visible pile of stones. The name suggests women or girls in the local tongue, perhaps lovers, workers, or warnings carried across the field. Whatever disappeared, the land kept the shape of the loss long enough for people to mark it and remember the women it contained.
