Knockmaa holds a grassed burial cairn on a flat summit, large enough to mark but quiet enough to forget. The 1902 opening exposed a skull and whetstone, suggesting death and daily labour shared one address. Modern curiosity may have cut the slight summit hollow, yet the cache still contrasts sharp toolwork against forgotten flesh.

On the summit of a flat-topped hill (OD 330.5ft), 2.5km W of Knockmaa (see GA042-064002-). Named 'Poulnahallia or Kildrum' on OS Fair Plan, it is a grassed-over flat-topped subcircular cairn (E-W 12.2m, N-S 11.7m, H c. 4m) in fair condition. A slight hollow on the summit appears to be the result of modern interference. A human skull and a whetstone were found during 'excavations' in 1902 (Costello 1905, 37; Waddell 1975, 18; 1990, 94).
