What is recorded here
In rough grazing land. Well-preserved circular cashel (diam. 38m) defined by a drystone wall. The original entrance gap appears to have been at SSE; it has been enlarged to accommodate a gate. At NNW the cashel wall has been incorporated into a later solid stone structure (GA103-086002-) which may have acted as a lookout or may be a folly. It is marked and named ‘Tower’ on 3rd ed. of OS map (1933). (Westropp 1919, 178; McCaffrey 1952, 189, no. 77)
