Caher Island

Caher Island is a twelve-acre stone chamber in the Atlantic where seventh-century monks built hermitages and people still row across dangerous water to touch the sacred site. Gráinne Mhaol is said to have killed her lover's murderers upon that same rock, turning a place of prayer into a ledger of blood. The sea does not distinguish between devotion and vengeance; it only keeps both alive in salt and distance.
