Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Bute, Glencallum Bay as Burial Cairn (period Unassigned), Short Cist (neolithic) - (bronze Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Neolithic short cist and unassigned burial cairn; the site reflects early funerary practices in western Scotland. Its dual dating suggests possible reuse of the cairn during the Bronze Age.
