What is recorded here

Located at the bottom of a NW-facing slope and c. 25m from the present SE shore of Drumaleague Lough. Archaeological monitoring of an afforestation project by Richard Crumlish identified a spread of broken and burnt stone (Wth 3m; T 0.2m) in a drainage ditch. It was immediately below the surface and was laid on peat which rested on marl. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 16 April, 2020

Burnt mound in Seltan is a Bronze Age ritual or industrial site, characterized by heat-shattered stones and fire-cracked rock. Its location near Drumaleague Lough suggests possible connections to water-based activities or seasonal settlements.
