Situated on a slight E-facing slope. A magnetic gradiometer survey (20R0129) over an extensive area identified a subcircular feature (dims c. 15m x c.12m) with a strong magnetic susceptibility, which may indicate a possible burnt mound or fulacht fia. Burnt mound in Rosspile is a Neolithic ritual or industrial site, dating to the 4th–3rd millennia BCE. Its significance lies in providing evidence of early human activity, possibly related to heat-treated stone use or ceremonial practices.
