What is recorded here
Shankill Graveyard in Edenderry, County Antrim, holds burials recorded outside its main boundary. The official name preserves that unusual detail: these are not forgotten, not misplaced, but clearly outside the grave yard itself. Whether that marks an older custom, a crowded church, or a family keeping its own distance, the boundary still matters. Death measured the town twice, once inside the yard and once beyond it.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Burials (outside Shankill Graveyard). Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
