Death and memory belong to this steep Kerry field. The oval hut and adjacent stone mound still hold the shape of what was lost, while collapsed walls scatter across the soil like a forgotten language. People may have buried their dead here, marked the place, and returned with grief or prayer. The stones no longer speak in words, but they keep the fact that life ended and was remembered.

Located in the SW corner of a steeply sloping field. Remnants of an oval-shaped hut (KE088-037----) of rough construction with a .9m wide entrance at N. Stone collapse fills the interior and abuts the external wall-face. Adjacent at S, a roughly circular-shaped mound of stone collapse with protruding slabs at its centre and along the S side. Possibly a collapsed hut (KE088-037001-). Old collapsed field walls and a dense scattering of loose stone lie within this quadrant of the field. This may be the 'graves site' (KE088-037002-) noted by O'Malley, though he erroneously places the site one field to the N (OPW, 1937). It may also be the location of the square hut 'near Coolaconan' sketched by Lynch (1902a, 55). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
