Cuppage recorded that a storm at the end of the 18th century stripped the soil from Baile An Reannaigh and exposed a number of graves with quantities of bone. The precise count remains unknown, but the violence of that reveal suggests the land held more than a single funeral. Perhaps the whole village slept beneath the grass, waiting for rain to remember what people had forgotten.

Cuppage (1986, 250) noted that 'a number of graves and quantities of bone' were exposed here after a storm at the end of the 18th century. The precise number of graves is not known.
