O'Leary found a large quantity of human bones in the mid-19th century, marking the site as a reburial ground for Clonagh church and graveyard. It is not a casual scatter but a deliberate move of remains from one sacred place to another. The dead were lifted, carried and set down again under a different sky. That act turns a ordinary field into a chamber of memory, where the living honored the dead by giving them a second home.

According to O'Leary (1903-05, 172-75) large quantities of human bones were uncovered here in the mid-19 c. He identifies this site and a cross base and shaft (KD003-016001-) as being connected with the reburial of interments from Clonagh church and graveyard (KD003-020001-).
