Bullaun stone in Tullycoly is a D-shaped stone with a single basin on top of a drumlin near a rath in County Leitrim. The basin is wide enough to hold water, rain or perhaps milk, while its damaged lip suggests the place has been touched, used or forgotten more than once. Standing beside it, the stone does not explain itself; it waits for a person to imagine what was poured, prayed or lost there before the grass took back the shape of the event.

Situated on top of a drumlin. A D-shaped stone (dims 0.75m x 0.65m; H 0.15m plus) with a single basin (diam. 0.35m; D 0.12m) is set in the ground c. 4m E of the perimeter of rath (LE015-135001-). Likely dating to the early Christian period, bullaun stones were often used for ritual purposes, such as the preparation of holy water or as baptismal fonts. They may also have had earlier prehistoric associations, reflecting continuity of sacred sites.
