In improved pastureland. A glacial erratic of pink granite (H 1m; L 1.9m; T 1.24m) contains the basin of a bullaun (diam. 0.35m; base diam. 0.15) on its N side. An ash tree is growing beside it at NW. The monument was brought out our attention by Dr C. Cunniffe. Likely dating to the early medieval period, the bullaun stone may have had ritual or Christian significance, possibly used for baptism or as a holy site. Such stones often feature in local folklore as places of healing or spiritual power.
