Unable to locate any bullaun stone in river bed or in the area marked on the OS 6-inch map. Bullaun stone identified by T. McDonald as part of an archaeological survey of the Clonmacnoise region in 1987 (McDonald 1987, 15). Described by McDonald as 'located in stream between Clonfinlough and Tullagh Beg' (McDonald 1987, 15).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
