Bullaun stone in Cartronatemple is a worn oval basin set into the outer west wall of a country church in the Glenade valley, County Leitrim. People may have knelt beside it for prayer, washing or remembrance, shaping smooth stone with repeated human attention. The valley still holds the church, and the church still carries the mark of that patient devotion.

Located in an undulating landscape on the floor of the NW-SE Glenade valley. The church (LE007-018001-) has a bullaun stone (L 0.53m; H 0.2m) with an oval basin (dims 0.4m x 0.3m; D 0.1m) built into the base of a cupboard on the outer face of the W wall. Likely dating to the early Christian period, the bullaun stone was probably used for ritual purification, such as baptisms or the blessing of holy water. These stones are often associated with local saints and may have had both religious and folkloric significance in the community.
