Fast Castle Head stands on the Scottish Borders, a sharp coastal point where a 19th-century sloop called Brothers struck the sea. The vessel broke against the headland, joining the endless list of ships the North Sea has taken. The name Brothers still belongs to the water, not a living family, while Fast Castle Head keeps the speed and danger of the moment the hull met stone.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Brothers: Fast Castle Head, North Sea as Sloop (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
