Brechin, 24 Castle Street, Bearehill, Greenhouse

Glasshouse (19th Century) - (20th Century)

What is recorded here

Bearehill still smells of wet earth and hot glass. You can picture a person pulling cloth sleeves back from the face, lifting a tray of small red plants into the open air. The house on Castle Street may have kept that greenhouse busy through every winter. If so, it gave Brechin more life than most stone buildings ever give.
