Promontory Fort; Defended Enclosure

What is recorded here

Brawdy Castle is an Iron Age promontory fort where stone walls still grip the Pembrokeshire coast. The sea may have closed one route, forcing every visitor onto the narrow neck where the landpinches. That much is written in the shape of the rock.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Brawdy Castle, Brawdy;Brawdy Promontory Fort as Promontory Fort; Defended Enclosure from the Iron Age period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Brawdy Promontory Fort is an Iron Age defensive structure, likely built between 800 BC and 400 AD, and is remembered as an example of early Welsh hillfort architecture used for community defense and territorial control.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
