This blue commemorative plaque records: A house named "Templeton", since demolished, stood here, the wartime home of Cdr. Bradwell Turner DSO who, in 1940, led a boarding party from HMS Cossack onto the German prison ship Altmark, and rescued 299 British merchant seamen.
