Ploughing and a nineteenth-century excavation cut through the mound, yet the buried quarry ditch and lost interior preserve the hands that built the barrow beside Weatherby Castle. It is not a display of polished fact but a place where human life stopped being visible and continued to hold its shape under the soil.

The National Heritage List for England records Bowl barrow 850m west of Weatherby Castle hillfort as a scheduled monument. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
