Boulder-burial in Letter stands on flat pasture near the Argideen river, where a massive 2.3m cover-stone rests across two visible supports. This is no crude heap but a deliberate chamber, built to hold a body and exclude the weather. The stones may have marked a leader, a favourite son or a forgotten family line. Whatever it buried, the builder lifted tons of rock to keep that person separate from the soil and memory.
