Boulder-burial in Kealagowlane — Report the wrong picture

Kealagowlane holds a boulder-burial beside a stream on the south slopes of Sugar Loaf mountain, facing Bantry Bay. Its large cover-stone rests across support-stones just north of a stone circle, while a cairn and burnt mounds scatter nearby. The place suggests people buried someone they valued where water, rock and distant sea could witness them.

On the W side of a stream, on a natural terrace on the S slopes of Sugar Loaf mountain with good views over Bantry Bay to the S. The boulder-burial stands just N of the centre of a multiple-stone circle (CO104-027001-). The cover-stone (1.3m x 0.95m; H 0.5m) rests on two support-stones at N and a pad-stone at S supported by two smaller stones. There is a cairn (CO104-027003-) 66m to the NNW, two burnt mounds (CO104-027004-, CO104-027005-) 86m and 97m to the NW, respectively and a fulacht fia (CO104-027006-) 113m to the WNW.
