What is recorded here

Boghouse Castle was a 14th-century tower house near Crawfordjohn, South Lanarkshire, now vanished beneath a working farm. It fell into ruin before the 19th century, erasing its walls, rooms and defences from sight. The land may still hold buried stone or forgotten shape, waiting beneath grass and traffic to be imagined rather than seen.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Boghouse as Tower House (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
