Blue Pool Bay features a sea cliff composed mainly of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 300 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The cliffs are notable for their coastal erosion dynamics and the presence of a small, tide-fed pool that gives the bay its name.
