What is recorded here

Remains of bleaching complex 1km NW of Dunmanway on tributary of Dirty river. Rectangular 2-storey structure, hipped roof; 2-storey addition to SE making ground plan L-shaped. Wheel pit (Wth 1.4m; D 1.6m) along SE elevation of addition; cast iron axle and flaunch in situ. Two small ruined structures stand nearby. Bleach green to NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
