Blane's Well, Strath Blane

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Blane's Well, Strath Blane as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Blane's Well is associated with Saint Blane, a 7th-century Irish monk and healer who is said to have lived in a cave near Strath Blane and whose holy water was believed to cure various ailments, particularly skin diseases. The well's sacred status is linked to early Christian traditions in Scotland, and it was likely a site of pilgrimage and ritual cleansing.
