Gateway, c.1850, comprising pair of limestone ashlar panelled piers with cut-limestone shallow pyramidal capping, iron double gates having spear-headed finials, sections of iron flanking railings on limestone ashlar plinth having spear-head finials, limestone ashlar panelled outer piers with cut-limestone shallow pyramidal capping, limestone ashlar curved flanking walls having cut-limestone coping, and limestone ashlar terminating piers with cut-limestone shallow pyramidal capping. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Blanchville House.

Forming an appealing feature at the entrance to the grounds of the Blanchville House estate an elegantly-appointed gateway exhibits very high quality in locally-sourced County Kilkenny limestone while early iron work further embellishes the design aesthetic of the composition.
