Blakey Tor is a prominent granite tor, formed during the late Carboniferous to early Permian periods, approximately 290–300 million years ago, through the slow cooling of intrusive igneous rock. It is notable as a classic example of a tor in the Dartmoor granite batholith, shaped by millions of years of erosion and weathering.
