Blackcombe Screes is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The feature is notable for its steep, scree-covered slopes and exposure of durable limestone strata, which reflect the region's geological history of shallow tropical seas and subsequent uplift.
