Bingley Five Rise Locks, part of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, were completed in 1811 and feature the steepest lock staircase in the UK, with five locks arranged in a vertical sequence. The locks were designed by engineer John Rennie and are important for their innovative engineering and continued use in the UK's canal heritage.
