Castlelaw Crescent holds a Roman coin, small enough to fit inside a closed fist yet heavy enough to pull time forward. The metal may have clipped a wrist, bought bread or slipped from a pocket during an ordinary hour. That forgotten motion preserved more than any monument because it forced a human being to exist before history noticed them.
