Built by Billy Bray, a 19th-century Methodist preacher, in the mid-1800s on Kerley Downs in Cornwall, the chapel is a small, simple structure reflecting the itinerant and revivalist traditions of Methodism. Dedicated to Protestant evangelical worship, it is significant as a local example of the spread of Methodism in rural Cornwall during the 19th century.
