Betrayal of Clannabuidhe: In November 1574, Sir Brian O'Neill invited Lord Essex to a three-day feast at Belfast Castle. When the celebration ended, Essex's soldiers attacked without warning, killing up to 200 O'Neills, including women and children. O'Neill, his wife, and his brother were seized, sent to Dublin, and executed for treason. The feast hall became a killing floor, and hospitality itself was weaponised.
Betrayal of Clannabuidhe is a massacre in County Antrim, Ireland.
