Berkeley Castle is a Grade I listed medieval fortress in Gloucestershire where the Berkeley family has held power since Robert Fitzharding rebuilt the stone keep in 1153. Tradition claims King Edward II was murdered inside those walls in 1327, casting a long shadow over the ancient rooms. The castle remains private property under Charles Berkeley, though visitors may still walk its grounds from April to November to measure the weight of that history.
