What is recorded here
Pleasure grounds were popular in the 18th century as ‘naturalised’ extensions to formal gardens. The idea was to bring walkers closer to nature, via woodland paths that meander past unusual trees, water features & follies. Seasonally muddy around pond.
A mapped walking route does not guarantee present access or safe conditions. Check signs, closures and the weather before setting out.
