Why this matters

Beinn Iomalach rises to approximately 550 metres and is part of the rugged landscape of the Outer Hebrides. Its name, meaning "Crooked Mountain" in Gaelic, may reflect its distinctive, irregular topography. The hill is significant as a named landmark in a region where many features retain traditional Gaelic names.
