Beckington Castle stands as a three-storey house with tall gables in Somerset, built in the early 17th century on the site of a medieval building. It has housed nobility, merchants, a school, and offices, while local tradition claims it is haunted and may have been the first English building advertised as more desirable for that very reason. A 1966 fire damaged the interior during the Ravenscroft School years, but later restoration returned the place to use.
