Beatrice Hill-Lowe

Ardee House stood in County Louth when Beatrice Hill-Lowe entered the world in 1869, launching a life that would bridge Irish birth and British competition. She later stood at sixty yards in London, loosing arrows for a nation that claimed her country, until a bronze medal arrived as the first Olympic honour won by an Irish woman. The distance between the house and the target vanished in that moment, turning a local girl into a historical marker.
