Remains of part of the old road from Castletown to Borris-in-Ossory passed midway between the 'caiseal' (LA022-005001-) and 'Brandybush fort' (LA022-0060 (Carrigan 1905, vol. 2, 180). Laneway here now. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P.
