This blue commemorative plaque records: Beach House The first building on Sidmouth's seafront, built c. 1790 in plain Georgian style with thatched "Shed" (open fronted shelter) attached. The "Shed" much frequented by gentry as meeting place. Gothicised c. 1826 and named "Blossom House". Fine example of Sidmouth Gothic architecture. Recorded plaque organisation: Sid Vale Association.

Beach House, constructed around 1790, was the first building on Sidmouth's seafront, serving initially as a Georgian-style structure with an attached thatched shelter popular among local gentry; later renamed Blossom House and gothicized circa 1826, it exemplifies the Gothic architectural trend in Sidmouth.
