It is a recorded battlefield in County Donegal, though the exact date and the parties that bled there have slipped from human memory. The ground may still hold the shape of a sudden violent choice, waiting for a witness brave enough to listen. Forgetting does not erase the event; it only removes the names that would have explained it.
