What is recorded here

Rathmore holds an unmarked battle site from 680 AD, when unnamed armies clashed on ground no longer visible. The men who bled there forgot the names of their kings within a generation, yet the soil remembers the weight of too many bodies falling at once. What is lost is not the date or the deed but the shape of the field, the direction of the charge, and the last words spoken before the spear flew.
