What is recorded here

Bonamargy in Ballycastle marked a 1585 battle site where local people bled on open ground. The date stands out because much of Ireland still lived inside older customs when gunpowder and border wars arrived. A man walking that coast road today may pass the exact place where young soldiers died before dinner. The battle is recorded without naming the losers, which leaves room to imagine frightened boys from either side falling into soil that now grows grass.
