Royalist forces under Prince Rupert defeated a Parliamentarian army led by Lord Fairfax and Sir Thomas Fairfax on 11 September 1643. The battle was a significant Royalist victory in Lincolnshire during the English Civil War, helping to secure control of the region for the Crown.
