What is recorded here

The National Heritage List for England records Battle of Stratton 1643 as a registered battlefield. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Royalist forces under Prince Maurice of the Palatinate defeated Parliamentarian troops led by Lord Stamford near Stratton in Cornwall on 16 May 1643. The Royalist victory strengthened their control over southwest England during the early stages of the English Civil War.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
