What is recorded here
Battle of Sheriffmuir Memorial is shown as a memorial on the public map of Stirling. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
Jacobite forces under the Earl of Mar fought government troops led by Viscount Dundee near Stirling on 13 November 1715. The battle ended in a tactical draw but is considered a strategic victory for the Jacobites, as it halted the government's advance and boosted support for the Jacobite cause during the 1715 rising.
