Royalist and Parliamentarian forces fought at the Battle of Rowton Heath in Cheshire on 24 September 1645 during the English Civil War. The Parliamentarians, led by Sir Thomas Fairfax, defeated the Royalists, preventing them from reinforcing the Royalist army at the Battle of Naseby, which proved decisive in securing Parliament's victory in the war.
