Battle of Pwll Melyn is a major battle site with a checked map point.
A local battle during the Welsh Civil War; fought in 1648 between Royalist and Parliamentarian forces, it contributed to the broader struggle for control of Monmouthshire. The Parliamentarians won, strengthening their hold in the region and supporting the eventual outcome of the English Civil War.
