Battle of Preston (1648) is a major battle site with a checked map point.
Royalist forces under Prince Rupert fought against the Parliamentarian New Model Army led by Sir Thomas Fairfax. Fought in August 1648, the Parliamentarians decisively defeated the Royalists, securing their control and helping to end the English Civil War.
